Toto produces the Washlets, the Japanese toilets that have become so popular in Japan. These toilets come with a bidet, heated seat, and deodorizer, among other things.
Before forming Toto its members were session musicians for Steely Dan[3] Seals and Crofts[4and Crofts[4] Boz Skaggs, Sonny and Cher. [5] Guitarist Steve Lukather was the band's lead singer.
Toto was formed in the year 1976 by guitarists Jeff Porcaro, David Paich (who at the time were also acclaimed studio musicians working with Boz Scaggs) and bassist/singer Bobby Kimball. Taking their name from the Latin word meaning "all encompassing," the group was intent on exploring all styles of music.
The third album by Toto, Turn Back, was not a success in 1981. However they came back with their fourth release, Isolation, which contained two hit songs including the title track and Roseanna. The album and the tour established them as a brand all over the world.
After a hiatus of a couple of years, Toto return with the album Fahrenheit in 1986. It marks a step away from the ballads that were featured on previous albums and also includes some heavy rock. This album was their first to go platinum in North America.
In the course of recording the band's fifth album, the band loses their manager and are faced with financial difficulties. They decide to change their name and create a new album with an entirely new producer. Joseph Williams, the son of John Williams, the legendary film composer and actress Barbara Ruick from 1950s, replaces Fergie Frederiksen as lead singer. Joseph is more natural as a frontman than Frederiksen and gives the band a much needed boost.
The band released Mindfields in 1999, and then embarks on a massive worldwide tour. After a few weeks in Europe, the band heads to Japan for sold-out shows. After a brief break, Toto resumes their recording and releases their first live album titled Absolutely Live in 1993. The album features a cover of Weezer's song Hash Pipe as a response to the band's performance in Africa on their recent tour. Toto's touring lineup includes drummer Lenny Castro and 스포츠토토 bassist Shannon Forrest and keyboardist Shem Von Schroeck.

In addition to the original members, keyboardist Greg Tambu filled in for Paich and bassist David Hungate filled in for Shem Von Schroeck.

In 2008, a string lineup changes and a series of disappointing releases prompted Toto to call it quits for a period of time.
